Privacy policy

This policy covers the website and nothing else. If you are a project client, the terms agreed in your contract and data processing agreement govern the data handled in that project; this policy does not replace them.

1. What we collect

What you send us yourself. When you fill in the enquiry form on the contact page, or email us directly, we receive whatever you typed or told us: company name, contact name, job title, email address, phone number, the topic you want to discuss, your expected start date, and the project description you wrote. Of those, company name, contact name, email, topic and project description are required; job title, phone number and expected start date can be left blank.

Technical information your browser generates. Every web server writes an access log, and this one is no exception: IP address, browser and operating system string (User-Agent), time of the request, the page requested, and the referring page. Your browser produces this automatically, you never type it, and we make no attempt to connect it to your identity.

We do not collect sensitive personal data on this website, such as identity document numbers, bank account details or biometrics. If you find yourself typing something of that kind into the project description, please do not: it is not needed, and we would rather you described the situation another way.

2. How we use it

Enquiry details have one purpose: replying to you. Someone from our presales or engineering team reads them to decide who should pick the conversation up and what to prepare, then gets back to you by email (or by phone, if you left a number). If the conversation does not lead to work together, the email thread stays in our company mailbox as a record of the exchange and is used for nothing else.

Server access logs are used to debug faults, to spot abusive requests and attacks, and for very coarse traffic counts, such as which pages get read most. We do not build profiles from them, we do not run automated decisions on them, and we do not use them for advertising or targeted outreach.

If we ever want to use your information for a purpose outside this policy, we will ask you first.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

This site is a set of static pages. There is no login and no account system. The pages set no cookies of their own, and they store nothing about you in localStorage. We have not added advertising trackers, embedded third-party social widgets, or dropped analytics pixels.

Your browser may cache the stylesheet, the script and the images locally under standard HTTP caching rules. That is the browser's own behaviour, it exists to speed up your next visit, and it involves no personal information.

If we add a web analytics tool later, this section will state which kind of tool it is, what it records and how long it keeps it, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it. Until then, this section describes exactly what the site does today.

4. How information is stored and protected

One point deserves emphasis, because it determines where your information actually travels: the enquiry form on this site does not send data to our servers, and no submission is stored on them. When you press submit, your browser assembles a draft email from what you typed, on your own machine, and hands it to your email client. Until you click send yourself, the content stays on your computer; once you send it, it reaches our company mailbox through your own email provider. It also means you can edit that draft, or simply close it, right up to the moment you send.

Once it arrives, the information sits in our company email service, with access kept to the minimum needed: only the colleagues following up on that enquiry can see it. The whole site is served over HTTPS. Server access logs rotate and are overwritten or cleared on a schedule, and we keep no long-term archive of them.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this information, but we should be straight with you: no method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure. If a security incident affects you, we will notify you as applicable law requires and explain what we have done about it.

5. Whether we share it with third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not pass enquiry details to partners for their own marketing.

Information leaves us in two situations. The first is the service providers we depend on, such as website hosting and CDN providers and our company email service; they come into contact with the relevant data while providing that service, and we require them to process it only on our instructions and for no other purpose. The second is legal: where law requires disclosure, or where a judicial or administrative authority makes a request through the proper procedure, we verify the request and comply.

6. Your rights

For the information you have sent us, you can ask what we hold, correct anything inaccurate, have the records deleted, or withdraw consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of that consent.

To exercise any of these, email contact@milisoft.com and say what you want; there is no extra form to fill in. So that we do not delete the wrong records or hand information to the wrong person, we may ask you to write from the address you originally used, or to confirm your identity another way. We reply within 15 working days.

If you think we are handling information badly, please raise it with us directly first. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority with jurisdiction over the matter.

7. Minors

This site is aimed at business customers and practitioners, not at minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

If you are a parent or guardian and find that a child has sent us information without your consent, contact us at contact@milisoft.com. We will verify it and delete the material.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or our technology changes. Any revision appears on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top changes with it.

If a change is substantive, such as what information is used for or who it is shared with, we will flag it prominently on the site rather than quietly editing a line. It is worth glancing at the date above before you send us an enquiry.
